'Day Eight' by Dan Albergotti
The lord is embarrassed. He realizes
only now that he will have to inhabit
the world he has made. He will be made
to endure the praises of the thinking creatures
and the indifference of the beautiful ones.
It's going to be hell. It's going to be
day after day of regret and chagrin.
And he wishes he had not made the son
a sacrificial lamb. He wishes he had not
made the daughter's hair auburn.
He wishes he had not left so many questions.
He almost wnats to apologize for the mosquito.
It's only morning, but it already feels
like a long day. He's already thinking about the rain.
