Peer Response 2, Week 7: Elizabeth W's Free Entry, Week 6

Elizabeth,
You are talented. Very talented. I enjoy reading your stuff so much. Like Ben, I too am in love with southern culture, mainly because I have grown up in a town exactly as you described above- it's home. My absolute favorite part of this draft is: "The man will tell you where to go to eat the best breakfast for fifty miles. Grits will come with your meal, whether you order them or not, and they should come like hot liquid silk filled with tiny pearls of ground white hominy and topped with a full sized pat of sweet cream butter melting a yellow puddle." You could have not been any more dead on with that statement. I think you have done a wonderful job with writer-narrator displacement. While reading this, I couldn't help but see the man next to my grandparents house, down by the four-way at Cheif Vann, selling boiled peanuts, cokes, fruits and veggies. Then, I see my grandpa... talking to a newcomer at Central about all the independent, family-owned, eateries around town. Wonderful!!! Please, please, PLLLLLLEAASEEE make this into a poem. I would absolutely love to read what you make this draft into. :)
